Description

It had been months since he had left them in the caverns. Maybe even perhaps a year. The tough Babylonian Dragon had been moving his two children from cave to cave. He knew he was being followed. He had been banished. Not for doing anything wrong. But for something the other dragons believed. There were rumors that his daughter was half Homa Bird and not a Dragon.

Being a Babylonian dragon he had no wings. He had a long slender body and four clawed legs. The front legs were more like lion paws while the hind legs looked more like the talons of an eagle. He also had a long muscled tail. He had a few bright pink feathers around his face. They were a common thing among the Babylonian dragons. The oldest of his daughters looked much like him but the youngest did not. She had wings and bright plumage adorned her body, it was bright of many colors. Just like her mother had been. She was no Homa Bird but a Persian Drake. a Dragon with two hind legs and long feathery wings.

While he was hunted down he moved his daughters about to keep them save from the dragons approaching. He placed the two girls in a cavern.

"I will return to get you I promise. Shalamat take care of Anathahamesh. You are the oldest. I will be back but keep your guard up"

Shalamat nodded as her father left. The girls waited patiently for their father to return. Days passed, months, a year and he never returned.

Shalamat and Anathahamesh now started to take care of themselves. Shalamat showed her younger sister how to hunt. In Time Anathahamesh learned to fly and became a far better hunter than her sister.
Shalamat became jealous. Slowly started hating on her younger sister though Anathahamesh always shared from her kills with her sister.

"Its your fault father never came back" She would tell her.
"Maybe it’s true what they said about you. You are not even fully a dragon. That is why you have wings" Shalamat said and Anathahamesh started to believe.

[i]Maybe I am just a monster a half Homa half Dragon thing [i/]

And so she started to not think about it and focus on her hunting. She loved to hunt. She loved the rush of the wind on her face as she dove from the sky like a falcon, Digging her talons on her catch and lifting it up into the air.

Each day she caught more and more critters. Sometimes more than she could eat even with help of her sister. Shalamat thought she was being mocked. And also went hunting.

Soon things started getting out of hand. And Salamat and Anathahamesh fought over their right to kill.
“I hate you you half Bird Spawn. I don’t care if you are my half sister you are nothing but a monster.” Shalamat spat at her little sister. Anathahamesh didn’t want to fight But after day after day of being pushed around by her older sister one day she finally snapped.

Anathahamesh was eating her kill when her older sister slapped her and took her kill. After holding her anger inside for so long it all escaped at once. And with that Anathahamesh bit her sister. And so the sisters fought. With one lion paw swipe Shalamat left a gash on Anathahamesh’s flank. Anathahamesh took to the skies to get away. Once she was in the sky she looked down. Her sister roared in rage at her. The wind hit her face just like when she got her dinner. Her heart was racing, the wind waving though her colorful feathery plumage. She had never felt so alive. For a split second Shalamat didn’t seem like her sister anymore. She was nothing but another living thing ready to be crushed by her grasping talons. She flew higher and higher circling over the mountains. Finally she dove towards the earth with her wings folded back and talons forward. With one swift swoop talons hit flesh and with her wings spread she lifted the orange creature. She however didn’t calculate the weight and was forced to drop her catch.

Shalamat fell she clawed for grip. The sides of the mountains were out of reach. Her lion paws scraped the mountain but her decent was to fast. She was doomed. She knew it. The time seemed like an eternity. As stone and bush passed by her in the blink of an eye her paws reached for hope but found none. Soon she no longer had nails to claw at anything. She tried not to look down. Yes her father had picked a hard to reach spot. A high one to keep her and her younger sister safe and now it was her downfall. As the ground of the valley below got closer and closer she decided to instead look up. The last thing she saw was a brightly colored Dragon with magnificent wings diving right for her. She reached for her sister in hope that she would help. Unfortunately the ground found her first.
